FOR MY FAKE CHRISTIAN FRIENDS ... WWJD? HE'D PROBABLY BE SITTING IN A CAGE, LIKE EVERY OTHER "ILLEGAL" SEEKING REFUGE

And, if you're wondering, here are 10 reasons why you can't be both a Christian and a Trump supporter ... and it's straight from the Bible (the article is two years old, but more pertinent today than ever). My Fake Christian friends won't get it. Don't worry, neither did Pontius Pilate, who was brought up on charges of cruelty and oppression, and eventually charged with executing people without a proper trial.

HEADLINE OF THE DAY (... MONTH)

Even if it's just satire, this is still the headline of the day ...

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON ASYLUM SEEKING AND IMMIGRATION

Image may contain: text that says 'Myth: Crossing a border without proper and documentation is an illegal act. Reality: The Geneva Convention, established after WWII, gives migrants fleeing violence the right to enter legally.'

For those of you interested in the conventions relating to the status on refugees, click here.

One last point ...

Image may contain: text that says 'Seeking asylum is not a crime, and if you cross the border illegally, it's a misdemeanor. So unless you want to start taking away the children of people charged with reckless driving, public intoxication, petty theft and disorderly conduct then stop saying immigrants deserve this.'

And they definitely don't deserve this, this, this or this ...

TRUMP'S AIR TECHNOLOGY GAFFES OVERSHADOW HIS MAN-CHILD 4th OF JULY MILITARY PARADE

Yesterday, during his ego-driven 4th of July extravaganza, Donald Trump misspoke (I'm guessing ... uh, hoping) and claimed that our revolutionary heroes "manned the air" and "took over the airports" on their way to defeating the British. His supporters are coming up with all kind of excuses for his gaffes. The problem is that Trump didn't make the mistake once. He made it twice. Here check it out ...
"Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do ...”
It's kind of hard to walk that one back, especially when the technology at the time (air balloons were in their infancy after 1783) doesn't give you much leeway for blowing it, twice.

Anyways, the internet had a field day with Trump's comments. Below are just several of the funnier responses-memes ...

Since these ignorant and ego-driven stumbles (and lies) are regular events for Trump, ending with the following meme-quote is more than appropriate ...

P.S. The quote is often attributed to Frank Leahy, but I'm not going to quibble over attribution.

BACK FROM FRANCE ...

For those of you wondering what happened to my posts, know that it's been a busy month. Apart from graduation, a two-week trip to France (for a conference), and my sister passing away there have been a few additional activities that have kept me running. I'm going to post on my conference presentation in Paris either today or tomorrow, but for the moment I'm just posting a few pictures of our trip to France.

The view from the second hotel we stayed at in Paris.

Rented a golf cart at Versailles because the place is ginormous.
We still didn't see it all, but we saw more than others in our tour group.
