THE CONSERVATIVE / REDSTATE DOUBLE STANDARD SHINES BRIGHT WHEN IT COMES TO MEGYN KELLY

So when Republicans like Donald Trump say crude and nasty things about the President, or Democrats in general, we shouldn't pay attention or worry. It's just Democrats being overly sensitive, and taking political correctness too far.

Besides, according to blowhards like Rush Limbaugh, it's kind of funny, right?

However, when Donald Trump says something suggestively off color about the far right's political pin up girl, Megyn Kelly, well, that's another matter.

For going after Fox host Megyn Kelly GOP front runner Donald Trump has been uninvited from an event sponsored by conservative RedState because, according to host Erick Erickson, "it's about common decency."

There's no political correctness going on here. Standards of civility, according to Erickson, have to be maintained.

So, if you're keeping score at home, this is what we have. Suggest Rosie O'Donnell's a fat pig, and you're OK. Questioning the President's birth certificate and calling Mexicans rapists and murderers keeps you on solid ground within the party too.

But if you insult Megyn Kelly ... well, that crosses the line.

Sigh ...
