PAT ROBERTSON: THIS WEEK'S VILLAGE IDIOT

Making a repeat visit to my "This Week's Village Idiot" category, via the Huffington Post, we learn that God shared with Pat Robertson who the next President of the United States will be. Here's Robertson, in his own words: "I think He showed me about the next President, but I'm not supposed to talk about that ..."

Also, according to Robertson, God told him that President Obama has "radical" views. Well, at least he's not making any more asteroid predictions for 2011.

What an idiot.

From what I can tell, it seems like Pat Bobertson is having a conversation with God. What domain is he using? Is it Skype, or Facebook, or Twitter, or...? Because all of these are public domains. I tried them all, but I could not find God's address. I even tried "godskyperobertson," but it did not work either. I noticed that Robertson was reading off what appears to be an email. My next mission is to contact NASA and see if they have an email for God.

An idiot in Athenian democracy was someone who was characterized by self-centeredness and concerned almost exclusively with private—as opposed to public—affairs. Idiocy was the natural state of ignorance into which all persons were born and its opposite, citizenship, was effected through formalized education. In Athenian democracy, idiots were born and citizens were made through education (although citizenship was also largely hereditary). Idiot originally referred to "layman, person lacking professional skill", "person so mentally deficient as to be incapable of ordinary reasoning". Declining to take part in public life, such as democratic government of the polis (city state), was considered dishonorable. "Idiots" were seen as having bad judgment in public and political matters.
