Robert Baer, former CIA operative and author of Sleeping With the Devil: How Washington Sold Our Soul for Saudi Crude, recently did an interview that came out in the May 2008 Men's Journal. In it he discussess the war in Afghanistan (it's a "joke"), the use of torture (doesn't work), and drinking with the Russians (bring butter). For my money, he offers the best one-liner on the war in Iraq, and Gen. Petraeus's contribution to the effort.
